Children Go Into Regression
Saw an interesting article on Internet
(it is in Japanese just in case ;). You can read it yourself from the link if you know Japanese).
Some of the people who have kids might be interested to read it.
Pediatricians suggest to breastfeed babies at the shelters. Also those kids upto 4 years old who went into regression.
I was interested in that sentense "kids upto 4 years old" part. I see that kids at those shelters would go on a lot of stresses.
I hear kids who just had younger brothers or sisters goes into regression (I just came to know this expression by the way). I assume that happens to the children who went through the horrible earthquakes and so on this time.
According to the news, at those sites there are chances of flues and infections spread around espcially among little ones and seniors. By breastfeeding the babies will be more prevented from those infections.
It seems that breastfeeding has many benefits under the situation.
Here below, I will just translate the info that is in the article that I think it might be useful.
* Mother's milk which is produced by mother's blood would contain white blood cells such as lymphocytes that has sterilizing power. It would help keeping babies from infections.
* By breastfeeding babies, the hormone called oxytocin would be secrete in mother's body which would help stabilise her mind. (surprising...)
* For those mothers whose milk have stopped, it will come again if you keep trying (I assume if trying would be much stress then it might be better not trying so hard though). If the situation allowed, it would be nice to let those nursing mothers have food first, so they will have their milk back.
* For the babies fed by powdered milk, it is recommended to use disposable cup for feeding them. The usual baby bottle would be hard to keep it clean. Try to keep the baby's hand from the cup while feeding the baby.
* If you need to use bottled mineral water (there are many cases that you cannot get water from usual water supply), pay attention to the minerals. Calcium and magnesium would be tough for baby's kidney. 50 to 60 hardness would be ideal, however, even for the water with 100 hardness, it can lower it by boiling the water for about 10 minutes. It will enable the water using for formula.
Please kindly note that those info need to be verified by yourself. Trying to share useful infomation but still not perfectly sure if the info is reliable. Thanks!
